Founded in 1991 in Beaufort, SC, The Woodshop is the premier custom woodshop in the southeast. The Woodshop provides a unique combination of design, build and installation of Plantation and Hurricane Shutters as well as other custom woodworking projects. An expert in finishes, owner Scott Maxey can match new or repaired furniture to existing pieces or create a unique finish for your project. Other superb skills include unique window designs and antique conversions. 1 window to 100, no project is too small or too large for The Woodshop. We do not use subcontractors so you are assured of a fast, quality installation. Need to stage your window treatments over several separate projects? The Woodshop works to maintain your paint colors on file to ensure future shutters match your trim.
We serve Beaufort County including Fripp Island, Dataw, Hilton Head and Savannah, GA. Additionally, for our special clients, we have installed shutters in Tennessee, Illinois, Indiana and other locations outside Beaufort County.
Scott Maxey, President: Scott, the son of the founder, measures and installs all window treatments. Scott verifies each shutter properly fits and provides a final inspection to ensure each customer is satisfied. Scott also designs and builds custom wood products such as shelf units, armoires, etc..
Robyn Maxey, Shutter Master: Robyn, Scott’s wife, ensures the best quality shutter gets to Scott for installation. Robyn hand-picks the wood, mills and assembles the shutter to the highest quality making Shutters from The Woodshop the talk of the lowcountry. The Woodshop gets most of its new customers from customer recommendations.
Sherrie Maxey Metzger, Office Manager: Sherrie, the daughter of the founder, works closely with Scott on measuring and selecting other window treatments such as wood blinds, soft sheers, etc. in addition to assisting Scott with installations.
